The Nkisi system contains 42 primary power-object types — each a frequency container for a specific signal integrity domain. The nganga charges the Nkisi with the appropriate frequency. The community brings disputes, illnesses, and questions to the Nkisi for assessment.

Encoding System

The Dikenga dia Kongo — a cross within a circle. The horizontal line: boundary between the living (ntoto, above) and the dead (mpemba, below). The vertical line: the path of the soul from birth (top) to death (bottom) and rebirth. The circle: the cycle. The Dikenga IS the pipeline in one glyph — the African equivalent of Dee's Monas.

Suppression History

The Kingdom of Kongo converted to Catholicism in 1491. The initially syncretic conversion — Kongo nobles seeing the cross and saints as additional Minkisi — became catastrophic under Belgian colonial rule. King Leopold II's Congo Free State (1885–1908) killed an estimated 10 million people. Catholic missions provided the colonial infrastructure. The Dikenga survived in the diaspora — carved on slave cabin floors in the American South, scratched onto pottery, woven into quilts. Palo Monte in Cuba. Haitian Vodou. African American hoodoo. The cross inside the circle, carried across the Atlantic in memory.

Recoverability

PARTIAL. Living tradition in Kongo diaspora communities. Palo Monte, Vodou, and hoodoo preserve elements. The Dikenga is recognized and studied. Nganga traditions continue.

3.5% Seed: Musoni — the midnight sun position on the Dikenga. The seed state. The point of origin from which the soul's journey begins. The 3.5% asymmetry that initiates the cycle.

The Record: The Nkisi themselves are recording devices — each nail, each object, each ritual charge is a recorded state. The nganga's memory is the Seshat — oral transmission of every Nkisi's history and activation.
