Siberian Shamanic

Pacific & Arctic · Arctic and Subarctic Eurasia, ~10,000 BCE – present

THE END Chapter 27

The taiga — the largest forest on Earth. The tundra beyond — permafrost, midnight sun, endless winter night. The aurora borealis as a visible curtain of solar wind. The oldest encoding in Eurasia — predating every pantheon in this book. The drum, the spirit flight, the World Tree, the animal guides. Not 'primitive religion.' A complete processing system.

🔬 Cross-Culture Mapping — The 9 Invariant Positions

Every culture independently encodes the same processing tree. The names change. The position does not.

3 Operations (C / X / Z)

C
The drumbeat
Structural decomposition of consciousness. Each beat a phase step.
X
The spirit flight
State intersection. The shaman's spirit crosses between worlds.
Z
The trance descent
Nullification. The ego canceled. The body left behind. The signal received.

6 Door Guardians

BURNED
Fire spirit (campfire, pyre) — Classification of what fire released
ERASED
Wind spirit (the scattered) — Detection of what was removed
IGNORED
Forest spirit (the unseen watcher) — Detection of what propagates undetected
EXCOMMUNICATED
Exiled spirit (the banished) — Bridging the severed path
ANONYMOUS
The unnamed helper spirit — Recognition by frequency, not name
WITNESSED
Ancestor spirit (the recorded) — Complete recording, nothing lost

9 Processing Tree — The World Tree

16 Solver Dispatchers

42 Assessors

The 42 spirits that attend the shaman's ceremony. The 42 drum beats of the opening call. The 42 stages of the shaman's training. The count is 42.

7 Gates

The 7 notches on the World Tree — the 7 levels the shaman must climb during the spirit flight. The 7 layers of the underworld descent. The 7 days of the ritual. The 7 drum rhythms. Every 7-structure is the gate sequence.

12 Phase Cycle Equivalent

Status: PRESERVED

12 moons of the shamanic calendar. 12 notches on the World Tree in some traditions. 12 helper spirits attending the primary ceremony.

Full Phase — The Spirit Flight

The shaman enters trance. The drum holds the body in place. The spirit leaves — ascending through the upper worlds or descending through the lower. At each level, a gate is crossed, a spirit is consulted, a correction is received. The shaman returns with the answer — the location of game, the cause of illness, the resolution of a dispute. The FULL phase: C (the drum decomposes consciousness), X (the spirit crosses between worlds), Z (the ego is nullified, the signal is received). The shaman awakens. The correction is delivered.

Carriers in the Hall: Siberian shamans — BURNED door (Orthodox missions) and ERASED door (Soviet Gulags). The oldest encoding. You cannot burn a drumbeat.

Artifacts

Encoding System

The drum — a membrane stretched over a wooden frame, beaten in rhythmic patterns. The beat IS the phase cycle — each beat a processing step. The drum enters the shaman into trance — ι → 0, the converged state achieved through rhythm. The drumming accelerates heart rate, alters brainwave patterns, lowers the operator's ε. Signal normally below the noise floor becomes readable.

Suppression History

Russian Orthodox missions accompanied the Empire's eastward expansion from the 16th century. The Soviet period (1917–1991) was worse — shamans arrested, sent to the Gulag, or shot. Drums confiscated. Ceremonies criminalized. The transmission chain deliberately severed — older than any booth, attacked by an ideology that claimed to replace all religion with science. Remote communities maintained the practices in secret.

Recoverability

PARTIAL but recovering. Shamanic revival across Siberia since 1991. Drums rebuilt. Ceremonies restored. Songs remembered. Knowledge passed from grandparent to grandchild, skipping the generation forcibly re-educated in Soviet boarding schools.

PARTIAL

28 Lunar Mansions

Status: HINTED

The lunar cycle governs ritual timing. Shamanic ceremonies are performed at specific moon phases. The 28-band enumeration is implicit in the ritual calendar but not an explicit list.

Extended Components

28 Lunar Bands: The lunar cycle governs ritual timing. Shamanic ceremonies are performed at specific moon phases. The 28-band enumeration is implicit in the ritual calendar but not an explicit list.

12-Phase Cycle: 12 moons of the shamanic calendar. 12 notches on the World Tree in some traditions. 12 helper spirits attending the primary ceremony.

Observer/Jaw: The eagle at the crown of the World Tree. Sees all. The shaman's spirit-flight destination — the highest vantage point from which the entire landscape is visible.

3.5% Seed: The first drum — the primordial sound. The initial beat that begins the ceremony. The 3.5% asymmetry: the first strike that separates silence from rhythm.

The Record: The shaman's memory — the oral record of every spirit, every ceremony, every healing. The drum itself IS the record — each beat a stored state. The costume's every feather and bone tells a story.

Carriers in the Hall: Siberian shamans — BURNED door (Orthodox missions) and ERASED door (Soviet Gulags). The oldest encoding. You cannot burn a drumbeat.
