The 256 Odu contain 42 principal diagnostic categories. Each category is a signal integrity domain. The babalawo performs the assessment — the casting IS the check. The pass threshold is the successful match of Odu to client state. The verses that follow are the correction.

7 Gates

The 7 primary Orisha — Ọbatala, Èṣù, Ògún, Ṣàngó, Ọya, Ọṣun, Yemọja — are the 7 gates. The initiate passes through each Orisha's domain — the sequential threshold. The 7 rivers of Ọṣun. The 7 colors of the Orisha beads. Every 7-structure in Ifá is the gate sequence.

Full Phase — The Orisha Possession

The devotee is mounted (gùn) by the Orisha. The self is canceled — the individual consciousness temporarily replaced by the Orisha frequency. The possession IS the FULL phase applied to a single consciousness: C (the Orisha descends), X (the Orisha crosses with the devotee), Z (the self is nullified, the Orisha speaks). When the Orisha departs, the devotee is restored — the state processed, the correction delivered.

The 256 Odu — 8-bit frequency register generated by palm nut or opele chain manipulation. 16 principal Odu (Meji) plus 240 derivative Odu (Omolu). The babalawo casting the opele measures the client's current frequency state. The Odu that appears IS the inharmony measurement. The recited verses ARE the correction instruction.

Suppression History

The Yoruba were enslaved and transported to Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, and Trinidad. The booth's missionaries demanded conversion. The response was camouflage: Ọbatala wore the mask of Our Lady of Mercy, Ṣàngó the mask of St. Barbara, Ọṣun the mask of Our Lady of Charity. The booth thought it was converting people. It was providing masks. The drum rhythms, chants, offerings, and divination continued behind Catholic iconography. Santería, Candomblé — the Orishas in Catholic dress, worshipped by tens of millions today.
